Birthday Trip to Long Beach, WA

The first trip Steve and I ever took together was to Long Beach, WA, and it has since become an annual tradition. We usually go in February, but had to move it to April this year, so made it into a birthday weekend trip for me. It was so nice to relax and enjoy the soaking tub in the bungalow. Friday and Saturday were rainy, but we still managed to get out and have our traditional crab dinner in town and have some chocolate sea foam (honeycomb) candy from the shop in town. Sunday was beautiful, so we had a nice walk on the boardwalk & beach. It was a great way to end our trip.

Our bungalow for the weekend.

The crabs were feisty this weekend.

Always have to stop in the see our buddy Jake.

Loving this photo - glad I had my 50mm with me.

Checked off in our Washington Curiosities book (for the 4th time).

The never-ending race

Steve enjoys a pina colada... and getting caught in the rain.

Birthday balloons and cupcakes in our bungalow - what a nice surprise.

The whale who watches over the whale bones. Too bad they are falling apart. Wishing I had taken some pictures on our earlier trips.

Sun came out on my actual birthday (Sunday).

Loving the perspective here.

We had some really interesting clouds on our walk.

A man was throwing bread on the beach and taking photos of the seagulls that gathered.

The bread man may be on to something.

Mermaids wishing us safe travels home.

  1. LOVE the boardwalk photos. You've really got a good eye with a lot of photography stuff. And thanks for the flamingo.
